Q: Do Darkfin gloves offer any protection from the cold?
A: Darkfin gloves were designed for speed, comfort, dexterity and grip! Some surfers and divers claim to have used Darkfins in water as cold as 55 degrees with reasonable protection. Some have even ordered a larger size and used a liner underneath and reported ok results with this. We are in early research and development working towards making a warmer glove for those who are in temps below 50 degrees.
Q: How thick are Darkfin gloves?
A: On average approximately .9 millimeters
Q: How can I tell which size will fit best?
A: Go to the page with the size charts and click on the size that you think you should wear. Set your printer to print at 100% and print out the hand chart. Lay your hand inside the outline. If the outline is larger or smaller than your hand simply printout the next size up or down until you get the closest fit. That is your size.
Q: How long will Darkfin's last? How durable are they?
A: Darkfin's are made from a custom blend of latex and neoprene. How long Darkfin gloves will last depends on several things.
- What will you be using them for?
- How often will you use them?
- How well you take care of them when you are not using them?
On average your gloves should last several months. In some cases where the gloves are only used on occasion they can last for years. In other cases where they are used daily for aggressive sports like surfing they may only last for a few months.
Q. Are Darkfins waterproof?
A. Yes and no! The material that Darkfin gloves are made of prevent them from absorbing water and getting heavy, but if you are fully immersed in water you can take in a little water through the cuff. We didn’t include a strap because it’s just another annoyance that can come off later down the road. If your wrist is small you can always use a rubber band to band the cuff tighter if necessary, however this is a rare occurrence for most people.
Q. Will Darkfins make my hands sweat?
A. If it’s really hot out your hands are gonna sweat no matter what, but the cool thing is when wearing your Darkfins you are sweating out vitamins and minerals out of your body. Coupled with the natural materials that Darkfin is made of it’s kind of like getting a spa treatment for your hands. Your hands are actually softer when you take the gloves off because they have been conditioning in not only your sweaty mineral soup, but the baby powder from the gloves! We only addressed this question in case it was ever asked, however to date we haven’t had a single complaint on this issue.
Q: How do I take care of my gloves?
A: Chlorine and direct sunlight are the two things most harmful to latex rubber. Darkfins latex formula has neoprene added to help protect from UV rays of the sun and Chlorine, like that used to disinfect swimming pools. To further protect your gloves you should always rinse thoroughly, sprinkle cornstarch based powder (most baby powders) inside the gloves and store out of direct sunlight.
Q: How do I exchange my gloves for another size?
A: We offer a 1-time size exchange. Return the gloves to us at the return address on the original shipping envelope along with a note informing us of what size you need to exchange for. The cost of shipping the product to you is on the shipping label. Please include a check for the shipping amount for return shipping back to you. You can also go to Paypal and click on “send money” and Paypal the shipping amount to sales@darkfingloves.com.
Please include a note as to what the payment is for. You could also simply purchase the next size up or down through our website and keep the one that fits best. Then return the other one for a full refund. If you need to send the gloves back for an exchange or refund please send the gloves back preferably with original bag and inserts along with a note referencing an exchange or refund to:

Q. What if my gloves have small bumps or blemishes?
A. Darkfin products are hand made by a very specialized dipping process. Small nodules and blemishes and bubbles are a natural part of the process and does not shorten the life of the glove or impede it's performance. However, if you feel that the imperfection is severe enough to prevent the glove from working properly or that it will cause the glove to fail prematurely then return it to us for exchange.
Q. I am allergic to latex, will I be allergic to Darkfins?
A. Generally, yes if you are allergic to latex rubber you will be allergic to Darkfins. If you have a mild allergy you can always try them out and if you find a discomfort you can always return them within 30 days of purchase to receive a full refund.
Q. Do Darkfins come in any other colors?
A. For now, no they only come in black. Black is universal and matches all clothing and wetsuits which is why we chose it as our primary color. We do however have future plans to introduce other colors. After a lot of request we are also working towards making a "neutral" color of Darkfin's so stay tuned!

Q. Where can I buy Darkfins?
A. You can buy them on our website of course and we ship worldwide. Because we carry so many sizes it’s difficult for most stores to stock them. There are however a few stores that carry Darkfins. Due to international distribution agreements, there are a few countries we can no longer sell directly to from our website.
Q. How do I put my Darkfins on?
A. When you place an order for Darkfin Gloves you will receive an insert in your package with photos and step-by-step instructions to apply and remove them.
Q. How long will it take for my order to arrive? Where is my tracking number?
